Our menu

Gorgeous though the pub is, it’s the food that really sets us apart. Under the guidance and meticulous eye of chef Gary Jarvis, the kitchen puts out some of the finest pub food imaginable table, including vegetarian and vegan options. With a deep belief in the importance of sustainability, all dishes are prepared using locally sourced, home-grown and foraged seasonal ingredients.

Favourite dishes include the homemade Shortcrust Steak Pie and truffle-poached chicken. Fish lovers can choose from their famous beer-battered fish and chips or delight in the flavours of the fillet of stone bass served with a mussel beurre blanc, while their vegetarian and vegan dishes will tempt even the most hardened carnivores – the roast cauliflower steak in a coconut broth and beetroot tricolour salad are a must-try.

As well as the a la carte menu, on Sundays we also cook three different kinds of roast with all the traditional trimmings.

The Bottle house is a beautiful Kentish treasure in the heart of ancient English countryside, surrounded by castles and beautiful country walks.

Inside our historic 15th century building there are plenty of cosy nooks and curiosities… a copper topped bar, art and antiques, real fires and a fantastic ‘Captain’s Cabin’ themed private room.

A MUST. What a wonderful place! Fabulous food in a characterful pub dating back to 1492. The Larkin Ale, brewed just down the road was exceptional. Delightful service and atmosphere!

Perfect pub lunch! Great food - lovely pie and mash, delicious Caesar salad, simple but really nice bread as starter, friendly and welcoming staff, excellent service. Nice rose, lovely pint of Harvey’s bitter. Sunny pub garden. Ideal!

This wasn't our planned stop, for walking in this fantastic area of natural beauty. Despite not having a reservation, the two of us were given a warm welcome and seated on a good sized table for two. This is clearly a great place to eat. So for a larger group I'd suggest making a reservation. I will be returning again.

Beautiful country pub with real character, fantastic staff and extremely good quality food. The burger is as good as they come, the food is clearly given consideration, skill and high quality ingredients. I have been here quite a few times and this place is consistently very good.

Had a lovely evening meal with my siblings as treating mum for her 75th. Food and service was exceptional. Also has a lovely outside seating area where you can listen to the sounds of the countryside and watch the world go by...

We had booked the room above the pub for a birthday celebration and had a wonderful evening, the room has lots of character and the set menu devised was very well received. Everybody loved the food (and drink!) and the service friendly. What more can you ask. Well done The Bottle House!
